Tierheim Darmstadt
We are supporting the Darmstadt animal shelter in gathering foundational data for a potential new building. Due to the expansion of a high-speed rail line, the current location is likely at long-term risk. The threat of expropriation poses a significant challenge for the shelter’s future planning and survival. Together with the board and shelter management, we are developing the necessary groundwork to ensure they remain capable of taking action when needed.

Below, you can download a brochure that documents our engagement with the topic. In collaboration with the shelter’s management and other stakeholders, we developed nine theses that summarize key insights derived from a selection of student design proposals on this topic at Technische Universität Darmstadt. These theses should be considered in the future planning of a new facility.
The publication is issued on behalf of Tierheim und Tierschutzverein Darmstadt und Umgebung e. V. and is intended to be made available to all interested parties. Beyond informing future planning, our reflections are also meant to inspire others who are involved in similar projects.
